Summer Workout Tips

Although much of the time leading up to the summer can consist of working on your beach body, fitness should last through the summer. Don’t let the work you’ve put in pre-summer go to waste by not maintaining it. In this week’s 2424 Penn Apartments Blog, we’ve got a few tips for you on how you can keep the momentum and get in great shape!

Play a Sport

During the summer, you may not have the time to dedicate to going to the gym, so how are you going to get your exercise in? Instead of spending time at the gym, you can get in your exercise by playing a sport! By either picking up a new sport or getting back into a sport you used to play, you’ll be able to get your sweat on and have some fun with your friends.

Stay Hydrated

Hydration is important during exercise, but it’s especially important during the summer months in Washington D.C. when the weather is hot. Working out or playing sports is sure to make you work up a sweat, so keep yourself from dehydration by drinking some water or other sports drinks. Not only will keeping hydrated help you exercise longer, you’ll also prevent any serious injuries.

Dress Appropriately

Before you head out for your run or hit the gym, consider the type of clothing you’re wearing. It’s going to be hot, so we recommend wearing lighter articles of clothing that breathe and wick sweat away from your body. Appropriate clothing can make your workout experience more pleasant and safer for you.

We hope these tips will make your summer workouts a little easier and more safe. Do you have any workout tips you’d like to share with our Washington D.C. apartment community? Leave us a comment so we can try them out.
